This is a charming blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Gris. The nose opens with blackberry with a hint of mint and sour cherry. The wine has a delightful Pinot character. The palate is filled with small fleshy berries, the tannins are light and melted, and a few notes of salt accompany the gourmet and fresh finish.
Terroir
Terroir
The grapes come from plots in the Herrenweg of Turckheim. Located on the alluvial fan of the Fecht, this terroir is characterized by colluvium deposits composed of a gravelly-sandy substrate, alluvium, and pebbles. Similar to the Graves soil, this terroir produces aromatic, ripe, and elegant wines.
Winemaking
Winemaking
The grapes were harvested by hand and then destemmed. The berries and juice were then macerated in stainless steel vats with a floating cap. At the beginning, we performed one to two punch-downs per day.
After pressing, the wine was aged in century-old wooden foudres until bottling in June 2024.
